Bollywood superstar Salman Khan announced on Monday that his upcoming UK concerts have been postponed following the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people, including many tourists.
The "Tiger 3" actor was set to perform on May 4 and May 5 in Manchester and London as part of the grand event, 'The Bollywood Big One', alongside a star-studded lineup featuring Madhuri Dixit Nene, Tiger Shroff, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Sara Ali Khan, Disha Patani, Sunil Grover, and Maniesh Paul.
Sharing a statement on Instagram, Salman expressed that he and his team believed it was only appropriate to postpone the shows during this period of national mourning. “In light of the recent tragic events in Kashmir, and with profound sadness, we have taken the difficult decision to request the promoters to postpone the shows. We feel it is only right to pause during this time of grief," his statement read.
While acknowledging the disappointment it may cause fans, Salman assured that the decision was made out of deep respect for the lives lost and the grieving families. The new dates for the Manchester and London shows will be announced soon, according to the official note.
Salman was also among the many Bollywood personalities who condemned the Pahalgam attack, calling Kashmir "heaven turning into hell" and expressing his sorrow over the targeting of innocent lives. He poignantly wrote, “Ek bhi innocent ko marna puri kainath ko marne ke barabar hai,” stressing the sanctity of every human life.
Fans and organisers alike have shown overwhelming support for the decision, appreciating the sensitivity shown by Salman and the team during such a difficult time.
